Thanks to Nicole Chisholm for making sure we all get all the latest info from our district UWF!
All meetings are open to any women in the church and in the community!
We gather to share snacks, fellowship, devotional and prayer time. We study together and plan for our ministries in the church and community.
If you have any questions about the United Women in Faith groups at FUMC Crossett, please contact the office. We would be glad to help!
If I had to pick one word to describe our escape room fundraiser, it would be "awesome"!
There were so many invaluable volunteers that made our event possible. I know it may take a chunk of time but I am going to list everyone by name because they deserve the recognition.
+Thank you to those who hosted: ann, pat, matt, rhonda, justin, lisa, ashton, margaret ann, kay, debbie, india, ginger, and charlotte.
+A huge thanks to Rhonda who was crucial in making this happen. She:
1. created our promotional materials
2. kept everyone updated through the bulletins, website, emails, groups messages, social media and countless questions I know she received in person.
3. She made the introduction video for our clients - And if you haven't seen it yet you can watch it on the church's YouTube. It is IMPRESSIVE!
+ Thank you Rob, Justin, and Dr. Brad for getting internet to the daycare wing. I doubt our customers would have had as much fun if a stranger was sitting with them while they tried to escape.
+Thank you Sarah for making the photo backdrop. I was truly blown away!
+Thank you to those who cleaned the daycare wing. I'm not sure how many windows Charlotte cleaned or what concotion of cleaning products Ms. Pat used to get the tape off the floor, but there was some serious cleaning going on. Nancy, Kay, Margaret Ann, Ginger and maybe even more that I didn't see were creating a clean environment that would make anyone proud to call this their church.
+Thank you Kay and Pat for creating the fabulous bulletin boards!
+Thank you to those who tested the escape room for errors. Your feedback made it possible for our event to go smoothly.
+Thank you so much to those who donated supplies and money. We definitely wouldn't have had such an impressive profit without you.
+Thank you Dr. Ben for inviting me to Rotary to promote the escape room and Ms. Debbie for watching Rose while I went.
+Thank you to Nicole, my mom, for watching my children which seemed like every other day so I could work at the church or run errands.
+Of course a big thanks to my husband Rob - he climbed ladders, moved furniture, set up technology, and came up with the chess clue for the escape room. He brainstormed many hours with me on how to make this event great.
This was definitely a church wide effort and I am so grateful and proud of the work that went into this fundraiser.
Now for what many of you are probably wondering: we spent $156 on supplies but because of our generous church members and a local business owner we began with a profit of $74. Fifty nine people participated in two days. Out of the ten groups, five groups escaped. After collecting payments from our clients, surprisingly receiving even more donations during our event, and our starting profit we made a total of $709!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Sincerely,
Emily
A lovely event sponsored by United Women in Faith!
On Tuesday, August 1, our church hosted the nurses and counselors from Crossett schools to share the Buy Nothing Room ministry and find out how we can support them throughout the school year. Huge thanks go to Becky Abbott who always represents the
BNR and our church so well, to Pat Hopper and her kitchen crew who prepared and served a wonderful lunch, to Ginger Cheatham who baked bread to give our guests, and to everyone else who helped in any way with this outreach.
We will be coming to you regularly about how you can help!
These dear ladies had a great time at St. Luke UMC in Pine Bluff. Thanks to Margaret Holder for driving and to Nicole Chisholm for making sure we knew about this great event!
FUMC Crossett UWF members Nicole Chisholm, Ann West, and Kay Johnson recently attended the ARUMC Southeast District Spring Meeting in West Memphis.
These Crossett ladies serve as officers in our local UWF unit and at the district level.
Nicole Chisholm - District Secretary
Ann West - District Membership, Nurture and Outreach Coordinator
Kay Johnson - District Treasurer
We thank them for their service and their dedication to the mission of UWF.
Our United Women in Faith morning and evening circles have worked together to collect items for summer fun gifts for the children to celebrate their graduation.
The gifts include snacks, books, small toys, and crayons. We are wishing them a great summer!
