We escaped!!!
In preparation for hosting our own Escape Room in February 2024, Emily Moffatt organized a UWF-sponsored group trip to Southern Escape in Monroe on November 2. We had lunch at Chicken Salad Chick, then on to escaping!
We were so proud of our group, many first-timers in an escape room! We won first place for the Barrelhouse Bizarre room because we escaped without using any clues!

This lovely group of FUMC Crossett members traveled to Star City for our Cluster Charge Conference with Monticello, Star City, and Greenhill UMCs and the Wesley Foundation at UAM. We heard an encouraging word from Rev. Edna Morgan, our district superintendent, and learned about mission activities happening in our area. Becky Abbott presented the Buy Nothing Room ministry and made at least one connection with another church who will be partnering with us soon. We are so thankful for each of these active and concerned members who were able to attend.

On Wednesday, September 20, we celebrated Elton Van Buskirk's last week with us. Elton has been working at Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge for the past year and has been worshiping with us regularly for the past few months. We have enjoyed getting to know him and wish him well on his future endeavors.

On Tuesday, August 1, our church hosted the nurses and counselors from Crossett schools to share the Buy Nothing Room ministry and find out how we can support them throughout the school year. Huge thanks go to Becky Abbott who always represents the
BNR and our church so well, to Pat Hopper and her kitchen crew who prepared and served a wonderful lunch, to Ginger Cheatham who baked bread to give our guests, and to everyone else who helped in any way with this outreach.
We will be coming to you regularly about how you can help!
